FMCSA creates vehicle leak detection course

September 4, 2015 By

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) developed a training course on leak detection in commercial motor vehicles fueled by propane or natural gas, according to the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA).

NPGA reports FMCSA designed the course for commercial motor vehicle inspectors. The course is designed to familiarize inspectors with propane’s characteristics and leak properties, identify propane-powered vehicles and help inspectors detect and handle fuel leaks.

According to NPGA, the online course takes about two hours to complete, and it features two modules with graphic displays and video demonstrations of combustible gas detectors. The course functions best when viewed in Google Chrome or Safari.
