The Foster Fuels Mission Critical division was activated in response to Hurricane Florence, which made landfall near Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.

A Virginia-based company, Foster Fuels stationed over 100 fuel trucks throughout the East Coast in preparation for the storm, with plans to send additional assets as needed. The trucks are carrying loads of diesel, gasoline, propane and other necessary provisions.

“We welcome the opportunity to answer the call during these times of need,” says Mission Critical team member Freddie Wydner. “This is a big commitment for our team members as they leave behind family members and other responsibilities. However, we know the work we are doing is helping others in their time of need and we are proud to be able to do that.”

Foster Fuels’ Mission Critical division’s main objective is to fuel critical infrastructure such as hospitals, first responder units, emergency vehicles and other key organizations.

“Fuel is a crucial commodity during these times of need,” says Stephen Tibbs, senior vice president of Foster Fuels. “When the power goes out and local vendors are affected and not able to meet that need, our team has the experience and the capability to fill those orders and keep the operation running.”

Foster Fuels has been seeking qualified CDL and hazmat-trained drivers to join its mission, which has been ongoing over the years. Other notable activations include Hurricane Sandy, the Haiti earthquake, and most recently during the 2017 hurricane season when three consecutive hurricanes, Harvey, Irma and Maria, affected the United States.
