New Blue Rhino leader among Ferrellgas executive changes

March 13, 2017 By

Berger

Ferrellgas announced executive leadership changes and appointments earlier this year, including a new head of its Blue Rhino propane cylinder exchange division.

Geoffrey L. Berger joined the company as executive vice president of Blue Rhino and senior vice president of Ferrellgas. Berger was also appointed to the executive committee of the general partner. Prior to joining Ferrellgas, Berger acted as an independent consultant since 2007, providing executive management and operating partner services to a variety of alternative private investors and family offices.

Berger replaced Tod D. Brown, president of Blue Rhino and an executive vice president of the general partner, who resigned in January. The company says Brown will serve in an advisory role through Jan. 31, 2018.

Ferrellgas also announced additional appointments to its executive committee. They are Trent D. Hampton, senior vice president of legal and risk; Randy V. Schott, senior vice president of retail operations; and Daniel Giannini, president of Bridger Logistics LLC.

“The leadership changes we announced earlier this year are going to reap significant benefits,” says James E. Ferrell, chairman and interim president and CEO, in the company’s second-quarter fiscal report released March 9. “Dan Giannini at Bridger and Geoff Berger at Blue Rhino are going to drive growth and improved results. In addition, Randy Schott, a 28-year veteran of Ferrellgas and senior vice president in charge of our large retail propane business, has also instilled a growth mindset in his people. Morale in the company could not be higher.”

Ferrell took over the interim president and CEO role in September 2016 when Stephen L. Wambold resigned.
