Palmer Gas & Oil celebrates new fuel storage facility, renewable propane

Palmer Gas & Oil celebrated National Propane Day on Oct. 7 with a delivery of renewable propane and a ribbon cutting at its newest fuel storage facility. Staff, colleagues and local businesses attended the event.
“This new facility consists of four 45,000-gallon tanks, which, when combined with our plant at 13 Hall Farm Road and our Raymond and Somersworth plants, give us a total of 810,000 gallons of propane storage,” explains Palmer Gas & Oil General Manager Peter Iacobucci. “This amounts to the largest amount of fuel storage in southern New Hampshire by an independent company.”
Palmer Gas & Oil says it is also the first propane company in southern New Hampshire to receive a load of renewable propane, a low-carbon alternative to conventional propane.
“This load of renewable propane marks a bold step forward in how we power our future and represents innovation, sustainability and a shared commitment to cleaner energy,” Iacobucci says. “It is appropriate that we celebrate on National Propane Day, the day that the industry comes together to appreciate the people – the technicians, drivers, engineers, safety experts and countless others – who keep propane safe, available and accessible every single day.”
Leslie Anderson, president and CEO of the Propane Gas Association of New England (PGANE), spoke about the benefits of renewable propane.
“Renewable propane allows us to immediately reduce our carbon footprint without investing in new appliances, heating systems or tanks,” she says. “It will continue to grow with us into the future as a reliable, resilient power source as we continue to make a clean energy cleaner.”
PGANE recognized Palmer Gas & Oil for the project, Alliance Energy Services for supplying the renewable propane, LP Transportation for hauling the renewable propane and Crown Energy Solutions for constructing the facility.
