PERC approves funding requests at Nashville meeting

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), meeting prior to the NPGA Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, approved the following funding requests. The principal contractor is noted in parentheses where applicable.

■ $225,000 for the 2017 Propane Energy Pod Builder Incentive Program, which provides builders of new construction an incentive for placing propane-powered appliances in homes (Swanson Russell).

■ $129,938 for Certified Employee Training Program/National Fire Protection Association 58 updates for 2017 (Dashe & Thomson)

■ $99,675 for a project that will update selected consumer safety and duty-to-warn materials (Logica3)

■ $50,000 for the Carbon Management Information Center Consortium, which is intended to serve the propane industry and its customers by providing information on the beneficial role propane plays compared to electric and oil options (Gas Technology Institute).

PERC will next meet July 11-12 in Denver.
