Underrepresentation

“There currently exists a significant political messaging gap between our industry and that of electricity and natural gas, whose own trade PACs outspent propane 4-1 and 2-1 in the last election cycle, respectively.”

“My main responsibility is to build value around NPGA’s political action programs and effectively relay that value to our members. Politics is personal and local; NPGA’s membership is a broad collection of different business philosophies from varying geographies. Developing an effective narrative that brings together the political interests of our smallest independent and largest multistate marketers who live and operate in different states with different cultures is a challenging but rewarding occupation.”

HOBBY

“Hiking is my passion. Throughout the past decade, I’ve been fortunate to visit and experience some pretty epic places, such as summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, hiking the Inca Trail into Machu Picchu and traveling to the end of the world to trek Torres del Paine in Patagonia. Currently, I’m attempting to summit all of Colorado’s 14ers (peaks above 14,000 feet) before I turn 45.”

On outgoing NPGA President and CEO Rick Roldan

“Observing how he has handled complicated and contentious issues both within and outside of the association has been a valuable education in leadership and management. Rick has a great ability to see solutions to problems from multiple perspectives, a skill set that comes from listening to and evaluating the needs and concerns of people. … Rick’s ability to provide confidence to so many people for so many years has been a remarkable thing to witness up close.”

Newlyweds

“My wife Kristen and I recently tied the knot at Wilton Castle in Ireland. We are both big travelers and our families have significant Irish heritage, so we decided that a ceremony back in the home country would be special. For our honeymoon, we spent our time exploring Dublin and Belfast, taking in the western side of the island and consuming copious amounts of Guinness and Jameson.”
