Sears converting service vans to autogas

October 2, 2012 By

Washington state legislators and dignitaries, including Rep. Katrina Asay, R-Wash., participated in a ceremony recognizing Sears Holdings and its 27 new propane autogas-fueled cargo vans. The vans will be deployed in the Sears Home Services fleet in Seattle for in-home service and repair visits. Sears partnered with Roush CleanTech to convert the 27 Ford E-250 vans.

“The conversion of 27 of our product repair vans to propane autogas is one of several initiatives we have underway to improve the efficiency of our fleet of 10,000 home services vans,” says Stu Reed, Sears Holdings senior vice president and president, Sears Home Services. “If we get the type of efficiencies we expect by converting these vans to Roush CleanTech propane autogas, we could scale this to all 10,000 service vans.”
