Seattle area businesses converting fleets to autogas

November 8, 2012 By

Fleets in the Puget Sound area in Washington, including Sea-Tac’s MasterPark, the city of Edmonds and the Seattle Children’s Hospital, have been making investments to convert their vehicles to propane autogas. Blue Star Gas, a partner in the Alliance AutoGas network, has been central to many of the area’s conversions.

For example, the largest Sea-Tac Airport shuttle fleet, MasterPark, is in the process of converting eight shuttles to autogas and installing an onsite fuel station. The city of Edmonds, meanwhile, is switching 17 vehicles to autogas, including 16 Ford Crown Victoria police cruisers and a public works truck. Once all 17 autogas vehicles are up and running, the city is expected to save about $60,000 on fuel costs. Blue Star Gas has helped the Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Washington Department of Transportation switch fleet vehicles to autogas, as well.
