SEPA, NCPERF launch propane autogas rebate program
The Southeast Propane Alliance (SEPA) and North Carolina Propane Education & Research Foundation (NCPERF) launched a propane autogas rebate pilot program tailored for North Carolina marketers.
The initiative aims to promote the adoption of propane autogas among marketers while providing tangible financial benefits.
Under the program, SEPA and NCPERF will offer 20 rebates of $2,500 each for propane autogas vehicles.
These rebates can be applied to various expenses such as:
- The cost of factory-direct propane vehicles.
- Conversion kits and labor for conversion kit installations.
- Professional training programs, including travel and lodging.
- Educational courses, seminars and workshops.
- The cost of enhancing company infrastructure, including dispensing stations and related hardware and software.
“This pilot program showcases our industry’s commitment and the ongoing dedication of the NCPERF board to maximize returns for our marketers,” says Andy Daughtrey, president of NCPERF and the central regional manager at Sharp Energy. “It also presents a great opportunity for our industry to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of propane autogas to our communities by implementing its use in our own fleets.”
Structured to provide up to five rebates per company in North Carolina, the program aims for widespread adoption of propane autogas and its benefits in reducing carbon emissions and operational costs for fleets.
“This initiative is aimed at transforming fleet sustainability by providing a generous rebate that enables marketers to embrace propane autogas vehicles,” says Lenny Hall, vice president of NCPERF and executive vice president of fuel and propane operations at Berico. “By doing so, they can effectively lower carbon emissions and operational expenses at the same time.”
The propane autogas rebate program is exclusive to North Carolina marketers participating in the checkoff program, with projects required to be physically located within the state and contribute to local business generation. Questions regarding project eligibility will be decided by the NCPERF board.
“If you ever wanted to start using autogas in your business, this is the time to do it,” says John Jessup, president and CEO of SEPA. “This is a great opportunity to start using the perfect fuel to power your fleet. SEPA staff is standing by to help you get started.”
