Study backs autogas as viable option for fleet vehicles

June 19, 2014 By

The Mississippi Propane Gas Association (MPGA) released a study from the John C. Stennis Institute of Government at Mississippi State University titled “Alternative Fuel Vehicle Considerations for Fleet Manager: A Report on the Fuel Cost Considerations of Propane.” The institute concluded that, depending on fleet size, makeup and vehicle miles traveled, propane autogas is worthy of consideration for fleets interested in utilizing alternative fuel vehicles.

According to a press release, MPGA asked the Stennis Institute to provide a report detailing the considerations to convert gasoline fleet vehicles – primarily medium-duty vehicles and police cruisers – to autogas.
