Sunoco Logistics hires company for Mariner East 2 project

Sunoco Logistics Partners LP assigned a construction management contract to Fluor Corp. for the Mariner East 2 expansion project at its Marcus Hook Industrial Complex on the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. Fluor is a global engineering, construction and project management company that designs and builds complex projects.

Fluor says it booked the undisclosed contract value into backlog in the fourth quarter of 2015. The engineering company will manage the construction of the new terminal facilities to store, chill, process and distribute propane, butane and ethane at the complex.

Upon the project’s completion, Mariner East 2 is expected to provide an additional 275,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids for distribution to local, domestic and international markets. According to previous reports, the Mariner East 2 will likely start operations as early as 2017.
