DOE announces funding for autogas, other alt fuel vehicle initiatives
The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Clean Cities program awarded $6 million to 11 projects that are aimed at improving potential buyers’ experiences with alternative fuel and plug-in electric vehicles. The following projects received DOE funding, some for the propane autogas market:
- Penske Truck Leasing Co. L.P. in Reading, Pa., received $400,000.
- Triangle J. Council of Governments in Durham, N.C., received $450,000.
- North Central Texas Council of Governments in Arlington, Texas, received $600,000.
- University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla., received $600,000.
- Clean Fuels Ohio in Columbus, Ohio, received $500,000.
- Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services – Office of Energy in Tallahassee, Fla., received $400,000.
- ASG Renaissance in Dearborn, Mich., received $450,000.
- West Virginia University Research Corp. in Morgantown, W.Va., received $800,000.
- National Fire Protection Association in Quincy, Mass., received $750,000.
- Metropolitan Energy Center Inc. in Kansas City, Mo., received $250,000.
- National Association of State Energy Officials in Arlington, Va., received $800,000.
