May 15, 2012 By

Elevator manufacturer ThyssenKrupp Elevator is expected to announce at the ACT Expo May 15 that it will deploy eight propane autogas vehicles in Los Angeles and another eight in San Diego. Also, ThyssenKrupp will unveil its plans to operate 10 percent of its fleet on autogas by 2015 at ACT Expo.

ThyssenKrupp currently operates Roush CleanTech autogas vehicles in its Phoenix and Seattle fleets. The company is also targeting cities like Sacramento, San Francisco, Detroit and Houston for its future fleet plans.

“When we laid out all the fuels available today, there was only one alternative fuel source that met all of our needs, and that was propane autogas,” says Tom Armstrong, ThyssenKrupp’s director of fleet, in a Roush press release.
