The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) says National Propane Day is an opportunity to celebrate the propane industry and to highlight the benefits of propane.

The council encourages retailers to host a customer appreciation event or community event to mark the occasion. Retailers can submit event photos for a chance to be one of five grand prize winners randomly selected from the submissions to PERC. Participation in trivia contests every Tuesday and Thursday give retailers an opportunity to win National Propane Day branded swag items.

“Propane suppliers do so much to ensure that people stay comfortable in their homes and businesses remain in operation, and they work hard to provide these services in a clean, cost-effective and reliable way,” says Tucker Perkins, president and CEO of PERC. “Propane can work alongside other energy sources like solar and wind to reduce our dependence on the electric grid.”

As part of National Propane Day, PERC is celebrating the continued growth and production of renewable propane – an ultra-low carbon option that further moves the propane industry down the path to zero carbon emissions.

“As we collectively embrace the efforts behind energy resiliency, decarbonization and efficiency, propane is primed to lead the charge,” Perkins says. “On National Propane Day, and well into the future, there is a bright future for low-carbon propane.”

PERC is also promoting the Great Grilling Giveaway for consumers on Instagram to win propane outdoor living appliances as prizes.

Retailers can find resources to celebrate National Propane Day on the PERC website, including social media templates, press release templates and logos.

The Canadian Propane Association (CPA) hosted a National Propane Day in Canada on March 21.
