Energy Distribution Partners acquires Washington state propane marketer
Energy Distribution Partners (EDP), based in Chicago, acquired a privately-owned propane marketer that operates in four counties in the greater Seattle area under the names Kitsap Propane and Jefferson Propane.
The companies, owned by Larry Brooke and his wife Leah Henry, provide propane and propane equipment to residential and commercial customers in Kitsap, Jefferson, Mason and Clallam counties. The primary service area is in Kitsap and Jefferson counties, west of the Puget Sound.
The Brookes launched Kitsap Propane in 2006 and significantly expanded the business since then, adding Jefferson Propane in recent years. The combined operations serve more than 4,500 customers today.
“Leah and I are extremely pleased to transition our company to the team at EDP,” Brooke says. “They are trustworthy and have been straight shooters. We decided to partner with EDP because we knew they would continue to treat our customers, employees and the communities in which we operate with care and respect. As we begin a new chapter of our lives, we do so with the full confidence that EDP will continue to provide exceptional service to our customers.”
Tom Knauff, Energy Distribution Partners CEO, adds, “We are delighted to welcome Kitsap Propane and Jefferson Propane to the EDP family of companies, and we are thrilled to be expanding our footprint into the Pacific Northwest. Larry Brooke and his wife, Leah Henry, have built a solid business, and we look forward to expanding on the foundation they have built. We also look forward to expansion opportunities for the mobile application they pioneered called Propane EZ, which will bring fresh capabilities to propane customers throughout our service areas across the country.”
