Commentary: While data about 2023 fuel delivery software was comparable to 2022, Cargas, in its report, noted a significant change in the number of individuals who would wait more than seven years to replace their fuel delivery systems. In 2021, the number was 48 percent; in 2022, it was 58 percent; in 2023, only 38 percent would wait that long. This year’s survey included an option for individuals who do not want to use fuel delivery software, and just under 20 percent responded with this answer. In this context, 88 respondents to the 2023 survey have thought about replacing their current systems. Of these 88 respondents, more than half are considering a timeline within the next seven years, according to Cargas.
