Online map highlights propane autogas school bus usage

May 30, 2017 By

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) developed an interactive online map that showcases the status of propane autogas school bus adoption across the United States.

The map allows viewers to explore state-level bus data from more than 700 private and public school districts that operate autogas buses in 47 states, according to PERC. The map can be used to show school transportation directors how many school districts currently operate autogas buses.

“The interactive map highlights how widespread the adoption of propane autogas school buses has become,” says Michael Taylor, director of autogas business development at PERC. “We think a lot of transportation directors will be surprised at how many school districts are having success with propane autogas.”

In addition, visitors can click on a state on the map to reveal a downloadable infographic with the total number of school buses and the number of school districts using autogas within the selected state. The resource also includes fact sheets that detail the cost savings, emissions reductions and maintenance benefits of autogas.
