PERC seeks comments on 2023 funding requests

October 20, 2022 By

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is accepting industry and public comments on two funding requests totaling about $20 million. They are:

  • $12,863,000 for the 2023 Integrated Marketing & Communications Plan

This project encompasses 2023 programming for all markets, environmental thought leadership, corporate communications as well as digital development and reporting.

PERC says the program in 2023 will build on the momentum that its new brand identity, “PROPANE Energy for Everyone,” has achieved in increasing awareness and positive perceptions of propane through messages to consumer and business audiences.

PERC plans to use renewable propane to draw the attention of audiences and start conversations about both renewable and conventional propane. The key messages will still focus on conventional propane, the council explains in the docket, but will also introduce renewable propane and its growth as an emerging renewable energy option.

  • $5,410,000 for the 2023 Environment Campaign & Partnership with States

This project proposes a national consumer awareness campaign designed to carry PERC’s new brand identity and priority messages to consumers across the country.

According to the docket, the campaign will also create customized statewide campaigns designed to increase frequency and reach. State entities are asked to provide $1 of state rebate funding for every $2 from PERC to support a campaign in their state.

All comments on the funding requests must be received by 5 p.m. Eastern time on Nov. 7. PERC meets Nov. 8-9 in Destin, Florida.
