ThompsonGas acquires Reliance Propane Service

ThompsonGas, headquartered in Frederick, Maryland, acquired Reliance Propane Service, based in Oroville, California.

Reliance Propane was founded by Scott and Carolyn Steele in 1990. The company has serviced the Northern California communities of Oroville, Paradise, Chico, Marysville, Yuba City and Williams for more than 30 years. It has 250,000 gallons of propane storage capacity at its Oroville location.

Legacy Energy Consulting facilitated the sale. Reliance Propane Service is the seventh completed deal for Legacy Energy Consulting in 2022 and its twelfth in less than two years. Legacy also completed deals for Walker County LP Gas, Central Florida Propane, Hogan Gas, Northern New Mexico Gas, Boye’s Gas Service and Strobel Propane Gas.

Led by President Chad Pendill and Tyler Pendill, the director of sales and marketing, Legacy Energy Consulting provides business acquisition and evaluation services for buyers and sellers.
